![]() While waiting to hear more, read about how Nintendo is hosting a 20-minute Indie World Showcase tomorrow. With that in mind, it’s not surprising at all that Nintendo has Metroid Prime 4’ release listed as TBA. Metroid Prime 4, especially in comparison to Metroid Dread, is a bit of an odd duck from an outsider’s perspective. In the time since Metroid Prime 4’s E3 2017 announcement, Metroid Dread was. Metroid Prime 4 may not have shown its face in any recent capacity, but Retro Studios’ movements at least prove the game is. Then, in 2019, Nintendo announced that it was completely restarting development of Metroid Prime 4. According to Amazon, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite exclusive Metroid Prime 4 isnt releasing anytime soon. Metroid Prime 4 returns to the first person adventure roots of the original Metroid prime game and introduces a new storyline that ties together the events of the Metroid Prime. Metroid Prime 4 is Likely Far Away, But Fans Should Stay Optimistic. This is less surprising, considering the game was announced years ago only to go dark after that. Many predicted that the indefinite delay came as a result of the ongoing war in Ukraine so perhaps its release date remains “TBA” as that conflict is still happening.Īlso of note in Nintendo’s financial results is that Metroid Prime 4 has an expected launch date of “TBA” like Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp, too. This is especially surprising because Nintendo delaying its games is already quite rare. With “TBA” set for its expected launch, it doesn’t sound like Nintendo is certain this remake package will even release this year, which would represent quite the delay for the game. Metroid Prime 4 is still in development, Nintendo has confirmed at the spotlight swings to focus on the newest game in the series, Metroid Dread. Then, Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp was delayed again, this time indefinitely. This could be worrisome for fans of Advance Wars because the remakes were originally set to release in December of 2021 before they were delayed to spring of this year. However, the chart above also lists Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp as TBA. Shortly after the announcement, Bill Trinen, Director of Product Marketing at Nintendo of America, confirmed that Prime 4 would not be developed by Retro Studios, the studio that developed the previous Metroid Prime games, but would be produced by Kensuke Tanabe, the producer of the previous games. ![]() The company also reminded everyone that a new Switch OLED model was coming on August 26 in honor of Splatoon 3. Curiously, though Dream Buffet still just has a “summer” date, they list it under the “by the end of September” category in the brief, hinting at a release window (summer in all likelihood confirmed that anyway, but this seemingly is not going to get hit with a delay as of yet). ![]() All of those are “near future” type products set to release by the end of September. After all, since the 2017 announcement (which was literally just a title card), the only news we've gotten about Metroid Prime 4 has been the report that. Out of all of these, Nintendo also chose to specifically highlight these to investors: Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass: Wave 2, Splatoon 3, and Kirby’s Dream Buffet.
